LAN modernization for unified communications

EDM SA, Mali's national electricity generation, transmission and distribution company, needed to upgrade the switching layer of its Bamako local network to support data alongside IP telephony and video surveillance/conferencing.

Design of a redundant LAN architecture: two Cisco Catalyst 9200 Advantage core switches operating in HSRP with VLAN load-sharing, trunked to Catalyst 9200L access switches serving workstations, printers, IP phones and WiFi access points.

A local network with no single point of failure at the switching core, ready for unified communications.

Revolution'Air · Rwanda

Launch of a fixed-wireless Internet access operator

Revolution'Air, a licensed telecom operator based in Kigali, wanted to deliver broadband Internet access via fixed wireless — dish and receiver installations — to homes and businesses, including in areas poorly served by wireline.

Set-up and ongoing support of the operator: design of the wireless-link infrastructure and continuous support for network operations.

Broadband Internet access rolled out in Kigali without heavy cabling work, extended to underserved areas of the country.
